Wisconsin, located in the north central part of the United States, has a population of about 5,600,000. The landscape, largely shaped by the Wisconsin glaciation of the last Ice Age, makes the state known for tourism as well as many forms of outdoor recreation due to the many lakes, streams, and rolling hills.
Because the state was rich in virgin stands of old growth white pine and hemlock, the states' economy was originally based on farming (especially dairy), mining, and lumbering. Wisconsin's terrain of rolling glacial hills with rich soil coupled with unpredictable seasons favored dairy farming.
In the northern part of the state, farming had reverted back to the forest where staple crops of trees supplied a booming paper industry.
Tourism became important in the later 20th century, as people living on former farms traveled to jobs elsewhere. Service industries, especially medicine and education, have become dominant in Wisconsin.
Because of the diversified economy as well as a low net population growth, Wisconsin is noted for having a stable economy compared to most other states.

Managing type 1 diabetes isn’t easy, but it’s far from a crazed juggling act; it’s simply a matter of controlling diabetes glucose levels, while managing insulin levels and incorporating elements of good nutrition and exercise in your lifestyle. And it’s a matter of support.
